Harry Potter Author J.K. Rowling is once again embroiled in controversy after renewing her attack on Algerian Olympic boxer Imane Khelif.

Rowling, an outspoken figure on controversial gender issues, criticized Khelif over a “Hyper-feminizing PR campaign [used] as a distraction”.

"It’s important to highlight that launching a PR campaign and applying layers of thick makeup requires far more time and effort than simply making DNA test results public,” Rowling said on her Twitter, quoting from the news article attacking Khelif.

Rowling took a two-week hiatus from posting on X (formerly Twitter) following a lawsuit by Khelif.

The Olympic gold medalist filed a cyberbullying lawsuit against Rowling, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump. The lawsuit, currently under investigation by French authorities, accuses these high-profile figures of participating in a campaign of online harassment aimed at Khelif, particularly following unsubstantiated claims regarding her gender.

The issue began during the 2023 World Boxing Championships when Khelif was controversially disqualified over claims about her chromosomes, which led to a flurry of comments online.
