Singer Liam Payne tragically dies at 31

Former One Direction member Liam Payne tragically passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, according to Argentinian authorities.

The incident occurred at a hotel located on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo district, where the police confirmed Payne’s death.

Payne rose to international fame as part of the British boyband One Direction, alongside bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. The group was formed in 2010 on the UK reality show The X Factor and quickly became one of the biggest pop acts of the decade.

After the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, Payne launched his solo career, releasing his debut album LP1 in 2019. His most recent project, Teardrops, came out earlier this year.

Payne leaves behind a son, Bear Payne, born in 2017, whom he shared with singer Cheryl Cole.
