Lutfi Al-Jazaeri, the Director of Basra Sports City, announced that the gates of Basra International Stadium will open five hours before the Iraq vs. Jordan match in the fifth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The gates will open at 2:00 PM to ensure an organized entry process for the fans.

Al-Jazaeri highlighted the exceptional preparations for the match due to the expected large crowd, making the event a major public occasion. He emphasized the importance of a strict security plan to ensure everyone’s safety and provide fans with a smooth experience.

The security plan will involve three protective rings around the stadium. The first security perimeter will verify tickets and wristbands to ensure only authorized attendees enter, easing the pressure on security forces and preventing crowds from gathering near the outer fence. Additionally, parking arrangements and safe routes to the stadium will be in place, along with clear instructions for crowd management.

Regarding the technical setup, Al-Jazaeri confirmed that the stadium is fully prepared. Work began right after the Palestine match, allowing ample time to prepare the field and update electronic systems. The Jordanian Football Federation delegation praised the preparations and organization in Basra, complimenting the excellent atmosphere that creates an ideal environment for the sporting event.
