Rain in Jordan.
VIDEO - Rain returns to Jordan after lengthy dry spell
Jordan is currently experiencing a state of atmospheric instability, with rain-laden clouds moving from northern Palestine towards northern Jordan, particularly affecting Ajloun and the northern Jordan Valley. The rainfall varies in intensity and is occasionally accompanied by lightning and thunder – per ArabiaWeather’s forecasts.
Atmospheric instability
Friday will witness rain clouds across the country due to unstable weather conditions. Rainfall is expected to be scattered and sporadic, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds that could stir dust and sand in some areas.
Meteorologists at ArabiaWeather emphasized the localized and erratic nature of such weather patterns, highlighting significant variations in rainfall distribution.
In Amman, for instance, rain is anticipated in specific areas, with eastern parts of the capital potentially experiencing heavy downpours, while western areas may remain clear or partly cloudy, showcasing the uneven impact of the instability.
Breaking the dry spell
By Friday morning, scattered rains had already fallen, particularly in northern regions, offering some relief from the ongoing dry spell. Satellite imagery showed clusters of rain clouds advancing over Amman, with the early hours of the day proving most favorable for precipitation.
Western parts of Amman are expected to experience rain showers in the coming hours, while chances for isolated rain remain across various areas.
Meteorologists also noted that the showers could be accompanied by active winds and low clouds, potentially causing fog formation over high-altitude mountain areas.
