Prime Minister Jafar Hassan said Tuesday that Jordan will support Syria to “achieve security, stability, and preserve their national unity and sovereignty.”

He declared that the Kingdom will provide support to Syrian institutions “in vital sectors needed by the Syrian people”.

“Syria’s security, stability, and prosperity are directly linked to Jordan’s own security, stability, and prosperity,” he continued.

Hassan announced that the Jordanian government has taken immediate measures to ensure the reopening of borders, deliver humanitarian aid, and resume trade operations.

In the cabinet meeting that convened today, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh that Jordan is ready to supply part of Syria’s electricity needs and send a technical team to assess the readiness of Syria’s power grid.

He also confirmed Jordan’s willingness to cooperate in “oil” by facilitating imports through Jordan, as well as storage and transportation to Syria.

Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Eng. Yarub Qudah highlighted the swift dispatch of aid convoys to Syria shortly after recent developments.

Jordan’s assistance included some of the first Arab aid shipments to reach Syria. The government has also reopened border crossings, eased the flow of goods, and approved Syrian requests to transport exports through Jordan to global markets.

Over 1,000 trucks, Jordanian and foreign, have moved between the two countries, Qudah noted, stressing that these efforts were aimed more at supporting Syrians than at generating economic gains for Jordan.

Qudah reiterated Jordan’s readiness to act as a key hub for international aid to Syria and to facilitate trade between Syria, Jordan, and other nations.

He announced plans to develop infrastructure to boost cross-border commerce, including a customs center in the Mafraq Development Zone to streamline clearance processes, alleviate pressure on border crossings, and establish storage centers if needed.

These measures aim to accelerate procedures, prevent congestion, and ensure the smooth flow of international aid into Syria.
