A 2023 report from the Jordanian Audit Bureau revealed that the public treasury incurred financial penalties and interest totaling JD 8,261,419 due to delays in transferring funds for the Disi Water Project between 2017 and June 2023.

The report outlined that as of August 22, 2023, the total payments owed to the Water Authority for the project's operation amounted to JD 19,779,665

The delay in transferring the necessary funds by the Ministry of Finance led to additional costs for the project, violating the terms of the agreement outlined in articles 3, 6, and 9 of the contract.

Recommendations:

The Audit Bureau urged the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary steps to ensure timely payments to avoid future penalties and interest. The report emphasized the importance of correcting the financial situation according to regulations to prevent further burdens on the public treasury.
