Meteorological forecasts predict a sharp drop in temperatures across Palestinian territories, bringing extremely cold weather starting Friday evening. Rainfall is also expected on Monday, prompting safety warnings from authorities.

Palestinian Civil Defense Directorate urged residents, especially those in tents and makeshift shelters, to take extra precautions against the harsh cold.

Recommendations include drinking warm fluids, wearing layered cotton clothing, and covering heads, especially for infants and the elderly. Authorities emphasized the importance of using warm compresses on hands and feet, regularly rubbing limbs together to boost circulation, and monitoring children's body temperatures closely.

Residents were also advised to engage in light physical exercises to generate body heat and maintain warmth. The Directorate recommended covering the nose, mouth, and neck with cotton scarves to reduce exposure to cold air.

For shelter protection, authorities suggested insulating tents and shelters with cardboard under bedding and along walls to minimize heat loss. Additionally, they warned against lighting fires inside tents or enclosed spaces, citing risks of fire and suffocation.
